Education & Outreach Committee

The ACFC Education & Outreach Committee determines strategies for educating decision-makers, fleets and the public.

ACFC serves as a clearinghouse for all relevant AFV information.  Covered areas include fuels, vehicles, laws and regulations, incentives and other resources on AFVs.  ACFC also maintains detailed statistics on AFVs, AFV fleets and refueling stations in central Alabama.  Information is available in three ways.

  1. Telephone Hotline -- Information is available to callers at (205) 402-2755.
  2. Newsletters -- The newsletter is an emailed publication highlighting ACFC activities, local AFV fleets and issues impacting the Alabama alternative fuel market.  The newsletter is sent to all CC-Atl members in the region and to other alternative fuel interests around the country.
  3. Web site

Education and effective communications are requirements for the advancement of alternative fuels.  ACFC's communication efforts are aimed at the media, key area leaders and fleets.  A targeted marketing effort is underway to identify and educate key potential AFV fleets.  In addition, an advisory committee of upper-level representatives will be created to help expand the influence of the Clean Cities program.
