Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition's (ACFC) mission is to bring Alternative and advanced technology fuels and vehicles to our towns and cities in Alabama.

The availability of alternative fuels and the use of vehicles powered by alternative fuels in Alabama will foster:

  • Increased domestic energy security
  • Enhanced economic development, and
  • Improved air quality

ACFC Chosen for 5th Consecutive Year!

We are pleased to report the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition's selection to participate in the 2012 USB Communications Reimbursement Program. This will be the 5th consecutive year that we have been chosen to participate in this excellent program to educate our state on the features and benefits of using soy biodiesel in the transportation sector.

Vestavia Hills Converts to Cleaner Fuel for City Vehicles

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - The City of Vestavia Hills recently converted 14 of its police fleet Ford Crown Victoria's. They enlisted Alliance AutoGas to outfit their vehicles with bi-fuel, Autogas-gasoline systems and install an on-site propane Autogas station to give officers easy fueling access. Vestavia Hills expects to save significantly on fuel and maintenance costs.

DOE, EPA Releases the 2012 Annual Fuel Economy Guide

DOE and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released the 2012 Fuel Economy Guide on November 16th. The guide provides information that can help consumers choose more efficient vehicles that save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. ACFC to Participate in EV infrastructure Planning

The Center for Transportation and the Environment (GA), partnering with Atlanta Clean Cities; Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition; Middle Georgia Clean Cities Coalition and Palmetto State Clean Cities (SC) has received planning funding for plug-in electric vehicles and charging infrastructure! The DOE’s Clean Cities initiative will facilitate local public-private partnerships and will develop EV deployment strategies.

ADECA expands Biodiesel Incentive Program!

The Alabama Biodiesel Incentive Program has been expanded! The program will pay up to $2,500 of the cost of cleaning existing fuel tanks in preparation for storage of B20 or higher blend biodiesel for use in fleet vehicles. Public K-12 school systems, colleges, universities and local governments may apply. For Details and Application click HERE
