With oil prices continuing to be high, and fuel budgets stretched, come hear from industry and state experts and make informed decisions for your fueling future. Learn about the advantages of quality Biofuels -- Biodiesel, ethanol, CNG, propane and electric. Also learn about the emerging Alabama Biofuels industry and the progress being accomplished by our state's Land Grant Universities in this exciting new field. Here are just a few of the agenda Presenters & topics:
- ADECA - Energy Division: Kathy Hornsby will outline ADECA's activities to build positive economic growth of the Biofuels industry in Alabama
- The Alabama Department of Agriculture & Industries - Deputy Commissioner Glen Zorn will discuss the involvement of Agriculture in the Alabama Biofuels industry
- The Future of Biofuels in Alabama will be presented by Larry Fillmer, Executive Director of Auburn's Natural Resources Management & Development Institute
- Michelle Kautz, from Growth Energy,will present the national perspective on the future for ethanol blends in Alabama and the United States
- Producing and Distributing Quality Biodiesel will be the subject of Rob Dascal's informative discussion. Rob represents the Renewable Energy Group (REG). REG produces over 25% of America's Quality Biodiesel.
- The Municipal use of Alternative Fuels will be explored by David Lindon, Director of Hoover Fleet Management. The City of Hoover has been nationally & internationally recognized for its use of alternative fuels. Over 85% of Hoover's vehicles are powered by alternative fuels.
- Clean Energy (the Boone Pickens Company) will be represented by Mason Ecker. Clean Energy is the largest provider of Natural Gas in North America with a broad customer base in the refuse, transit, port, shuttle, taxi, regional trucking, airport and municipal fleet markets.
- Retailing Biofuels in Alabama will be discussed by Hayden Powers, Municipal Sales Manager for the McPherson Oil Company
- Propane - The Right Fuel for Right Now - will be explored by Mark Denton, VP of Business Development- Blossman Gas and April Dents, representing CleanFuelUSA
- Cedric Daniels, the Electric Transportation Product Manager for Alabama Power will discuss the future of Electric Vehicles (EV) and when they are coming!
- Dale Aspy will present the current and upcoming Southeast Diesel Collaborative (SEDC) funding opportunities from from EPA's Region 4 in Atlanta.
- Phillip Wiedmeyer and Mark Bentley will conclude the Workshop with an overview of the current incentives, grants, and options you, as a Public or Private entity, may use Today to help implement a alternative fuel program.
